After a hurricane

by Gene
(Houston)

After we went through a hurricane last year (Gustav, 2008) we were without water and electricity for a few days. As much as I wanted to avoid it, I had to "squat" in my backyard to relieve myself several times since the toilets wouldn't flush.

I was astonished how quickly and comfortably I went. I also noticed that when I went, I went completely, as if my bowels opened up better.

Since then I haven't sat down for number two. I squat close over the toilet with the lid up. So far it's worked well but I'm in the market for a squatting toilet for my back bathroom.
